Two Types of I&C Equipment for China's Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Unit 3 Pass Acceptance Synchronously

Recently, the "Longlin" safety-class and "Longqi" non-safety-class digital control system (DCS) equipment for Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Unit 3 completed factory acceptance synchronously. China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., as the purchaser, organized and advanced the acceptance work for the two types of equipment, verifying the compliance of equipment technical specifications with design and engineering application requirements, laying the foundation for subsequent supply and on-site installation and commissioning.

DCS performs monitoring, control and protection functions for relevant systems and equipment in nuclear power plants, and is an important component of the unit's instrumentation and control system. Safety-class and non-safety-class systems respectively undertake tasks of different safety levels, with different emphases in technical requirements, quality assurance and verification procedures. The purpose of this synchronous factory acceptance is to coordinate the supply schedule and acceptance arrangements of the two types of equipment, while implementing their respective applicable technical and quality requirements.

With this goal in mind, China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd. coordinated the owner, design institute, equipment supplier and subcontractors to incorporate contract execution, technical interfaces and acceptance preparation into unified planning. During the acceptance process, all parties advanced the verification of relevant technical specifications through whole-process collaboration and quality control, further aligning equipment manufacturing with engineering requirements and accumulating experience for technical collaboration in subsequent installation, commissioning, and operation and maintenance phases.

The synchronous passing of factory acceptance by the two types of DCS equipment provides new engineering practice for the supply organization of instrumentation and control equipment in nuclear power projects, helping to advance the standardization of supply processes and industrial chain collaboration. What has currently been completed is the acceptance milestone prior to equipment delivery from the factory; subsequent steps still need to be connected, including transportation and delivery, on-site installation, and commissioning verification, to gradually achieve the integration of the equipment with other systems of the unit.
