Southwest Supervision Station of the National Nuclear Safety Administration Conducts Demonstrative Supervision of Radiopharmaceuticals
Recently, the Southwest Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (National Nuclear Safety Administration), together with the Department of Radiation Source Safety Supervision, the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, and Chengdu University of Technology, organized representatives of enterprises in its jurisdiction to conduct demonstrative supervision of radiopharmaceutical (medical isotope) production. This initiative aims to serve the national "Medium- and Long-Term Development Plan for Medical Isotopes (2021–2035)" and comprehensively enhance the radiation safety management level of the nuclear medical industry in the Southwest region. It is reported that this supervision activity practiced the concept of research-based supervision. In response to the characteristics of the Southwest region—where R&D, pilot testing, and large-scale production proceed in parallel, and the safety risks of unsealed radioactive materials are complex—the activity involved pre-arranging production processes...

CNNC Technology Delivers Nearly 1,000 Ultra-Low-Temperature Ball Valves, Achieving Breakthrough in New Processes
Recently, the Ball and Butterfly Valve Factory under CNNC Sufa Technology Industry Co., Ltd. successfully completed the delivery of an order for nearly 1,000 cast steel ultra-low-temperature metal-seated ball valves. The products for this project are required to meet the stringent ultra-low-temperature operating conditions of -196°C and are characterized by a large batch size, a tight schedule, and the adoption of entirely new processes. It is understood that this project involved 33 sets of entirely new designs. The technical team completed the pre-investment of blanks and product design in advance, and through tiered special technical briefings, clarified the quality standards for casting, machining, assembly, and inspection positions, ensuring that the products succeeded in pump installation testing on the first attempt and laying a solid foundation for subsequent mass production. Facing extremely high requirements for assembly and pressure testing precision, the factory established a special task force and coordinated continuous efforts across multiple departments including testing, production, procurement, and sales. The team closely monitored key processes throughout the entire process, including blank microstructure, non-destructive testing, and pump installation pressure testing, cleared production bottlenecks, and strictly controlled quality. Ultimately, the products successfully passed acceptance under both ambient and ultra-low-temperature operating conditions.

Lighting the Micro-Fire of Civilization: From Grid Baseload to Daily Life—A Panoramic Understanding of the Science and Reality of Russia's "Atoms for Peace"
In the public perception of modern society, "nuclear" is often a word laden with complex emotions, easily evoking destructive weapons or historical nuclear accident alarms. However, in fundamental physics, the enormous binding energy contained within the atomic nucleus is essentially a neutral natural law. When this energy is strictly confined within a reactor by precision engineering, it exhibits a completely different peaceful character. As the renowned physicist Kurchatov said, atoms are not soldiers but workers. Currently, human society is entering a "century of electricity" characterized by deep digitalization and high-energy-consuming industry. Facing the geopolitical fragility caused by fossil fuels and global extreme climate challenges, civil...
